Ravo: Pendik’s sweeping Rambo
The district of Pendik, located just outside Istanbul was selected by the administration of the Kaynarca province to start a "cleaner streets project". This project has been setup as a pilot which will be implemented in more districts.
To keep the streets clean a Ravo 5-Series sweeper was purchased. The 5-Series was chosen because it stood out in maneuverability and the overall quality and efficiency of sweeping. 20 Major streets were swept in less than one hour!
In January 2011, the sweeper and its cleaning capabilities were inspected by Mayor Kenan Şahin before being handed over by Turkish dealer Esman to the Parks Department of Pendik. Mayor Şahin was very impressed with the results and is looking forward to expand the project into other regions of Pendik.
The project also involves the help of the Municipal Police who makes sure that the roads are completely free from parked cars during the sweeping hours. "Forgotten" cars are towed away so the sweeper can clean the whole street.
